Color Vibe 2015

I am really lazy. Like, I sit and think about how lazy I am and that I should get up. Move. Sweep something, clean, just anything That exerts even the most minimal effort. Something is better than nothing, right?

But then Pinterest happens. Or Netflix. Facebook. Or my really adorable niece demands  my attention.

I don't exercise regularly. Occasionally I do yoga at home which I really enjoy. It's simple, relatively inexpensive (BadYogi Erin Motz on YouTube does great tutorials), and pretty self paced.

This year, I plan to do better. Not to lose weight, but just to be healthy. To take care of the body that God has given me. And so I won't be such a sloth.

So I'm going to run a 5K. I know, one extreme to another. But it's a good one, I think.

Basically it's a 5k walk/run where you get blasted with colored powder (nontoxic and it washes off probably eventually ideally). I'm going to run it with a friend who has done it twice before. And when I say run, I mean my friend told me I'm running.

So I figure, awesome. Let's do this.

Starting tomorrow, the plan is to start the Couch to 5K running program. That along with my Nike running app will help me keep track of my progress.

It's supposed to be 37°F tomorrow morning so that will be torturous but I hear starting running anyway is a misery until you get used to it or start like it.

If you're interested in finding a Color Vibe run in your area, follow the link.

And I started a board on Pinterest.

And I've made a blog post about it so it's totally legit now, right?

Sure.

So let's run a 5K.

Awkward Stages

First steps are scary. An infant enters toddlerhood one uncertain, awkward step at a time. It's a precious, awesome moment I've seen over  and over again as a babysitter and now part-time pre-headstart teacher. l love seeing it, a little miracle that never gets old.
But this is my first blog and it has nothing to do with babies, except for those times when it will.
l'm Christy. I love words. Reading, writing, learning words. I haven't written in quite some time just for fun. And I have never written with intent beyond school assignments. This will be different.
This will be important. This will be a space for God's glory. This place will be a record of the way Jesus Christ is leading me through life. A memorial unto the Lord.
And a place for recipes, DIY, my family, knitting, endeavors... and whatever extra bits of life I'm inclined to share.
So say hello, if you like. I'd love to meet you.
